Were you at CCDA 2004 in Atlanta at the Hyatt? So was TastyFaith. TastyFaith offered an irresistible workshop for inner-city youth workers on Saturday called Funkify Your Future. Face it, urban teens and other at-risk youth are one bad decision away from tripping out their future. One bad decision can effect them for eternity. A tasty sample of the topics covered in this workshop are: teen pregnancy, education, bling bling costs cha-chaing, and keeping your tail outa jail. Anyhow, October 26-30th was a great time of networking, learning and eating grits. If you didn't make it to Atlanta, check out CCDA and you can purchase the tape on Funkify Yo Future. Tapes will be made thanks to DOVE, the company that tapes all of our favorite conferences. There's other topics at TastyFaith that can help you, too. Check out reading Creating a Craving for Christ, which is the first chapter of Act Now! And many of the articles on aiding reading comprehension with innercity kids in your after-school program under Tasty Leftovers.
